JJ Lamb of THE VAIL ARIZONA PRESERVATION SOCIETY is our guest!  Vail is located between two mainline railroad tracks.  Grown from population 500 to over 12,000.

Vail is considered 'ground zero' of the history of southern Arizona.  Transportation routes from stagecoachs to railroading, ranching, and other commerce.

The society started as a project to save the abobe post office.

Story of the Vail Brothers who were looking to establish a ranch in the late 1800s.

Vail's location was the site of a railroad siding when the Southern Pacific built the track in the late 1800's.

Back then, an unstablized adobe wall on a vertical surface with a roof deteriorates an inch every 90 years!
