Talking trees with John from Integrity Tree Service. Looking at our tree of the month: Blue Palo Verde.
Two main palo verdes are the foothills and the blue palo verdes. Can grow to about 20-40 feet in height.
Palo Verdes tend to grow fast with proper watering. They also litter post bloom more that a slower growing tree.
Palo Verde provide shade. And are a nurse plant for baby saugaro cactus.
Palo Verde means 'green stick'.
CALLER: Has a peach tree. Half of it leafed out early, leaves curled up then fell off. Now its a bare tree. Suggestions what to do next.
CALLER: Has bushy trees blooming pink and white flowers. Would like to know what type of tree. Could it be cut backed or moved?
CALLER: Has large pine trees on a graded hill. Beneath them there is a lot of visqueen and roots on the top of the visqueen. Wants to remove the visqueen.
John's tips for May: The difference between pruning and trimming. Prune date palms. Pruning to get trees ready for monsoon storm season.

There's a big distinction between trimming and pruning trees.
The ANSI A300 is a standard for pruning to clarify what your objective is and the expectations. Ask for it when you talk with an arborist.

CALLER: Bought a tax lein house that was moved from a previous location on 4x4 pilons. The front corner has settled. Wants to jack up the foundation to level the house by removing the living room floor and jacking up from the inside.
CALLER: Suggestion for long term lowering the cost of housing thru solar panels.

TEXT: In talking about using evap coolers to cool the garage, a listener has noticed some rusting issues.
CALLER: You can't have an evap cooler in a garage and put an up duct in the ceiling because it violates 'the one hour fire code'. Rosie explains what that means.
