June is National Dairy Month.  Julie from Arizona Farm Bureau and Kevin Danzeisen of Danzeisen Dairy talk about the return of milk in glass bottles!  (That can be returned for deposit or keep)

Dairy is at the top of Arizona agriculture.

Arizona hovers around 100 family owned dairy farms.

Kevin explains why Arizona dairy farms are larger than ones in the midwest.   Arizona farmers have done a great job managing the heat. 

Kevin explains what they feed their cows.  Managing the nutritional value for healthy cows and healthy milk.

How much milk does an individual cow produce and how many calfs are born.

Kevin details how their milk goes from cows to the bottles to the store.  Including the pasteurizing, homogenizing process and the standards for the amount of fat for whole, 2 percent, 1 percent.

Milk on the shelves in the state is 97% local.  

40 degrees is their standard to keep milk cold.

Kevin goes over how they homogenize milk.

There's a big depth of knowledge among the Arizona agriculture farmers from dairy to cattle.

See all the flavors they offer at Danzeisen Dairy   Kevin is working on future flavors.

Danzeisen puts their own expiration date on their products.  Their research says 24 days.

CALLER:  Mother In Law received a mail brochure saying home plumbing lines 50 years or older needs to be replaced before the home is put on the market.   (could be an insurance policy offer)

CALLER:  Has a house built 1902.  They spray foamed the tin roof to reduce heat.  Attic is ventilated at the very top.  One side has a side draft.  Any further insulation needed.
