Segment 1 (running time )

Listen to this segment

Sal Sucato of DunRite Window And Doors joins the conversation on new innovations in window and patio doors!

Replacing underperforming windows installed in the 60's thru 80's homes.  What R value, Low E and keeping dirt out are keys to an efficient and correct installation of windows.   The right window and glass can keep each room in a consistant temperature and comfort level.

Low E coatings and argon gas are in today's dual pane windows.  R value is the material resistance to resist heat transfer.  Higher the R value, better the window.

Discussion of a recent installation project by DunRite Rosie and Romey got to see first hand.  They describe the home with lots of glass and patio facing west.  Sal talks about the homeowner's motivation to call him about the project.

Segment 2 (running time )

Listen to this segment

Discussion of a kitchen window replacement with a west facing patio.  Wanted something larger than a 36 inch sliding window.  Sal explains how they redesigned a door to expand that opening.  A push out casement style window thats efficient and sealed.

Sanderson Ford

Sal clarifies how window and door energy efficiency relates to the homeowner.  Installing a few windows versus replacing all is notable with blocking 99% UV and 88% heat.  The investment is a quality of life issue.

We get calls about do it yourself projects.  We explain why measuring, purchasing windows and doors yourself then calling someone to install is not a good idea to save money.

Discussion of the new pivot doors.  An eyecatching efficient way to accentuate an entryway.

CALLER:  Has dual and single pane windows in the home.  Has had to sit with companies who insist on long presentations.  Is this some sort of sales or training tatic?
