To protect the fruit, you can wrap the fruit in paper right on the tree. This will keep the birds away. Several factors weigh into this and some trees just produce unedible fruit. Tony breaks down all the options.

A few Rosie-Certified Partners attending the SAHBA Home Show:

Letters from a Listener:

  • Gill - Does anyone going onto a roof have to be licensed and insured....can a friend or neighbor inspect the roof for him?

Recommendation - No one NEEDs a license to go on the roof, but they need the expertise to know what they're doing. Rosie talks about all the different types of roofs and all the issues they can create. Estimates are free! So call a Rosie-certified roofer!

  • Mr. Townhend - He has a flat roof and thinks it's about 15 years old. He has a leak around the A-C unit and the roofer he's had out is telling him he needs to completely remove everything instead of just foaming over the existing foam. What do we think?

Recommendation - There are too many factors to consider without seeing it in person. There are instances where foam can't simply be applied over an existing portion. It's possible he might be able to use a sealant, but we'd like him to call Lyon's Roofing.

Caller:

  • Wendy - She's workig with Harmon Solar and wants to know if the solar panels are a problem with birds or critters to get underneath them?

Recommendation - This should NOT be a problem and they are designed to be fine for her home.
