Segment 1 (running time )

Listen to this segment

John with Integrity Tree Service has had a busy couple of weeks with tree damage from monsoon storms across the area.

High winds from different directions caused more downed trees and uprooting than normal.  Challenging to keep up with the calls.

Downed trees can be turned into chips and mulch for new trees.

Good time to check flat roofs for tree debris around the drains.  Use that debris for compost.

Segment 2 (running time )

Our Estore has the Hex Armor Thorn Resistant Gloves for clean up around your space.

John details our Tree Of The Month:  The Desert Fern.   Beautiful native tree, no thorns, sometimes decidueous.  Leaves have a fern look.

Segment 3 (running time )

Listen to this segment

John goes into his assessment when looking at tree damage.  Can it be saved or not.  Starting with the root system.

There are anchoring systems (or guywiring) to support trees to keep them upright including a duckbill system and earth anchor.

Before installing support stakes in the ground, make sure there's no gas line or other resistance that could impede hammering.

CALLER:  Has a 'sad looking' pecan tree with wilting leaves.  Needs suggestions to revive it.

Segment 4 (running time )

Listen to this segment

CALLER:  In talking about staking trees and not setting the guy wires too tight, why not use thick springs on the wires.

John's advice on a tree that shows signs of uprooting/falling down in windy conditions and trimming branches from the base to within reach.
