Tree Of The Month:  The Canary Island Date Palm.  Started growing at the turn of the century by weathy Europeans for its stature.  Slow growing, wide span.

Male palm produces flowers for the pollen.  Female palm have the female flowers producing the fruit.  If the palm has no fruit, its a male.

TEXT:  Allowed a neighbor to cut a branch of an Australian Bottle Tree hanging over the neighbor's yard leaving it loopsided.  Can the tree be reshaped, trimmed or left as is so it doesn't blow over in the wind.

Sarah explains getting a tree properly pruned for storms is to reduce end weight.  Reducing end limb weight reduces the risk of a tree being blown over.
